This Rx7 is the passion project of one of the Owners. The car is tube-chassis in the rear, and has a S2000 rear subframe. It has also been converted to use a later model Rx7 front subframe. It now handles like a modern car!
The engine is a 13B with a Bad Cat designed semi peripheral port. All of the manifolds and accessories on the engine are custom, and many of them are metal 3d prints. The exhaust manifold was printed in stainless steel, and has integrated runners for fresh air antilag. The oil pan has a thick girdle plate with integrated engine mounts. And the engine has solid dowels and a custom external oiling system. This is all hooked up to a Borg Warner S476, and plumbed through a Garrett water to air Intercooler allowing the car to make 430Hp at only 11lbs of boost.
An EmTron KV8 is used for the managment, and the car is wired from scratch using a Hardwire PDM 25. The build takes advantage off all of the modern tech that a motorsports ECU has to offer. Dual DBW control allows a second throttle to be used as an anti-surge/bypass valve. Compressed air system for the fresh air antilag, and the boost control. Throttle mass flow/Speed density blended fuel model, for excelent drivability with a high overlap and unstable engine.
Keep an eye out as this build progresses!
